based Kashmiris and their progress

This page is dedicated for politics here
in the UK and back at home in Kashmir. In my opinion both go hand in
hand. Of Pakistani residing in UK majority (90%) are most probably from
Azad Kashmir. The 1st generation was that of those economic migrants
who came during General Ayyub's Government in Pakistan and were the
direct result of the dam's flooding in 1960s. These people lived under
great hardship and poor living conditions in UK during their early days.
They worked as general laborers in manufacturing industry and the earning
were sent to develop their families and communities back in Kashmir.
During the 70's and 80's their families joined them and this next generation
took off in education & commerce. 90's saw a financial stability.
During 2000 onwards we saw Pakistani/ Kashmiri people participating
in local politics and taking positions of councilors, Mayors, Lords
and MPs in the UK. Also some candidates went from UK to participate
in Kashmir elections and take on similar positions there too.
Bearing in mind our history and now
the current political climate, what can possibly be done to bring
this nation of Jarrals back to 'A nation that leads rather than a
nation that's led'. During the 2006 AJK elections, we have had four
Jarral candidates standing for the legislative assembly which includes
Prof. Mirza Afzal from Mirpur (PPP) - lost, Mirza Shafique Jarral
from Burnala (MC) - won, Major (Rtd) Munsaf Dad Khan from Charhoi
- won(MC). May Allah SWT guide them further in leading us forward
in the political arena.
